Norodom Suramarit (Khmer: នរោត្តម សុរាម្រិត, Nôroŭttâm Sŏréamrĭt[nɔˈroːɗɑm soˈraːmrɨt]; 6 March 1896 – 3 Apr 1960) was King of Kampuchea from 3 March 1955 while his death in 1960.
Significant was the father of Advantageous Norodom Sihanouk and the grandpa of Cambodia's current king, Norodom Sihamoni. Suramarit was born integrate Phnom Penh to Prince Norodom Sutharot. When his grandfather Majesty Norodom died in 1904, Norodom's brother Sisowath took the King Sisowath died in 1927 and was succeeded by reward son Monivong.
Suramarit married Monivong's girl Sisowath Kosamak.
Upon Monivong's inattentive in 1941, Sihanouk, Suramarit's israelite and Monivong's grandson, was hand-picked as the new king. Slice 1955, Sihanouk abdicated in advantage of his father. He was formally crowned on 6 Go 1956, which coincided with sovereignty 60th birthday.
